California Leads Way With Electric Car Progress

You may have noticed that charging bays for electric and hybrid vehicles are popping up more and more, although we’re sure you’ll agree that’s it’s not exactly on every street corner yet. There is no doubt that the UK is making progress after lagging behind for too long, but we’re still a long way behind the US, and California in particular. A proposed change to the building codes in California would mean that each newly built property would have to have the 240v/40 amp electric car charging capabilities integrated into the main structure. This type of personal home charger would allow an electric or hybrid car to be fully charged overnight while sitting in the garage.
