Could Driver Alcohol Levels Be Detected In Your Vehicle?

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) in the US have announced the development of technology, in partnership with the Driver Alcohol Detection System for Safety (DADSS), to test a driver’s alcohol level when in the vehicle. The video below shows the prospective methods of analysis through touch and air filtering to detect whether a driver is safe and fully capable to command a vehicle. This technology will not be seen on the mass market for a few years yet, but it’s encouraging to know that one of the bigger influences on road death in the UK could have a solution coming from across the pond….
