FIA And Michelin Announce Road Safety Partnership

The news that the FIA and Michelin are partnering up for a road safety scheme may not seem that relevant to us in the UK at the moment, seeing as the pilot program focuses on the American cities of Miami and Los Angeles, but it is certainly a possibility that the same push could come over here in the near future. Both parties have announced a $100,000 investment in the two cities to target road safety for teenagers and the relevance of critical tyre safety information, this coming from research that approximately 12% of teenage car accidents in the US are tyre related. This is a direct offshoot of FIA’s Formula E Championship and its promise to leave a legacy in each of the chosen cities, and if this works could be rolled out to more of locations further down the line….
