Keyless Cars Targeted By Criminals

The Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders has said that the higher end of the car market is now being targeted by criminals focussing on the keyless security systems. It has even got to the point where there are reports of London based Range Rover owners being refused car insurance because of the abnormal break-in risk. Criminals have been buying and making equipment that is able to reprogramme the electronic data signature of a vehicle key fob, and then use the newly programmed fob to override and gain access to the targeted vehicle…
