The London Council of Westminster has taken the first step forward in trying to solve the age-old problem of trying to find that last parking space. Sensors have been installed on 3,000 roadside spaces that are linked to the smartphone ParkRight, you can then find which spaces are full and which are occupied instead of constantly driving in circles. As well as allowing people to find an available parking space a lot quicker, the project will also help with the borough’s congestion which is often bottled up with people on endless parking space searches. Westminster Council plans on rolling out a further 7,000 parking bay sensors over the coming months to try and cover its entire network and see if the systems results can match its potential.
