M25 Speed Cameras To Be Turned On

In a move that may eventually be replicated across the country, the highways agency will soon be turning on variable speed cameras between junctions 27 and 30 on the M25. This means that when lower speed limits signs are shown, the speed cameras will be automatically linked in to that new speed. So, if traffic calming measures mean that a 50mph limit is shown on the motorway, any vehicle travelling over 50mph for that stretch of road will be snapped by cameras and receive a penalty notice or summons.
